About HEIC and JPG
HEIC is a container commonly used by iPhones for efficient photos. JPEG has wider compatibility with browsers and upload forms. This converter exports a standard still image, without retaining HDR, depth maps or camera metadata.
Frequently asked questions
Does converting HEIC to JPG improve image quality?
No. JPEG uses lossy compression. A higher quality setting preserves more detail but produces a larger file.
Can I convert HEIF files from my iPhone?
Yes, .heic and .heif files are accepted. Some newer encodings or damaged files may not decode. Try exporting a JPEG from Photos if conversion fails. Multi-image files export their first image; HDR and original metadata are not preserved.
