How it works
- 1
Add a JPG, PNG or WebP image.
- 2
Enter a target in KB and choose JPG or WebP.
- 3
Compress and inspect the preview before downloading.
Why use this tool?
- Searches for the highest quality that fits your byte budget.
- Reduces dimensions only when quality adjustment is not enough.
- Shows the actual output size before you download.
About image file size
File size and pixel dimensions are different. JPEG and WebP reduce bytes using lossy encoding; reducing dimensions can help reach smaller limits. PNG inputs are converted to the selected output format.
Frequently asked questions
Will the image fit my target size?
The compressor only returns a file at or below the target. It first searches quality levels, then reduces dimensions if needed. It reports an error if the browser cannot produce a valid file that fits.
Why is my result smaller than the target?
Simple images may already fit comfortably. We do not add padding or enlarge images just to fill the budget. Complex photos often land closer to the limit.
Does compression preserve transparency and metadata?
Choose WebP to keep transparency. JPG fills transparent areas with your chosen background. Camera metadata, animation and color profiles are not preserved by this export workflow.
